Family Promise Our church participates as a host congregation for Family Promise by housing and feeding up to four families for a week at a time, once every three months. While in the program, the families work with the staff of Family Promise to gain job, parenting, and money management skills that will enable them to transition from homeless to independant living. Monthly Canned Goods Drive Collection for Hawaii Foodbank, 1st Sunday of each month, Friendship Lanai. FACE (Faith Action for Community Equity) Coalition of 24 faith communities dedicated to building God's kingdom on earth through advocacy affecting public policy. Past projects include: long-term care insurance; living wage; public safety (including traffic light addition at Jack Lane); safety and sanitation at public schools. Meetings and opportunities announced throughout the year. Outreach Ministry to Hawai`i State Hospital Sharing in spirited worship and fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ living with mental illness. 3rd Sunday of the month, 5:15pm - 7:00pm, Hawai`i State Hospital. Monthly Recycling Coordinated by the Church Council, NCC participates in monthly recycling of glass, aluminum and plastic bottles & cans. Pick-up on the 1st Thursday of the month.
